New Public School Samiti

Unnao Public Inter College (UPIC) is run by New Public School Samiti (NPSS), a secular non-governmental organisation (NGO) working in 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh and 02 districts of Uttarakhand. NPSS came into existence on 15 January 1982. It is one of the leading voluntary organisations of central Uttar Pradesh with its headquarters in Lucknow

The work of NPSS is focused on ‘literacy’, ‘gender equality’, ‘women’s empowerment’, ‘community participation’, ‘livelihood promotion’, ‘micro-credit promotion’, ‘vocational skills to neo-literates’, ‘forest management’, ‘equine welfare’, ‘disabled empowerment’, ‘street children welfare’, ‘agriculture development’, ‘reproductive and child health (RCH)’, ‘Care of the Elderly’, ‘Water and Sanitation’, ‘Solid Waste Management’, ‘Sodic Land Reclamation’, and ‘HIV control’.

NPSS is dedicated to improving living conditions and opportunities for the poor, irrespective of their faith, origin or gender. It believes in development that benefits populations, where development is understood as the sustained improvement of the population’s standards of living or welfare.

It strongly believes that the disadvantaged need opportunities, not charity, and its focus is to bring about a positive change in the lives of the most vulnerable people of our society. With this in view NPSS established a primary school at Takia Nigohi village in the year 2000. This primary school has now grown into an intermediate college. The college is providing quality education at par with other urban educational institutions to the children in the area.
